# Philos Deck — Privacy Policy **Effective date:** 30 August 2026 **Operator:** LUTHFRAME™ **Product:** Philos Deck (in-app name: **Philos**) — command palette extension for Adobe Premiere Pro **Contact:** philos@luthframe.com --- ## Summary Philos is **offline-first**. It runs inside Adobe Premiere Pro on your computer. We do **not** operate a cloud service that stores your projects, timelines, or media. Optional features you turn on (for example **Ask AI** or **Google Drive**) may send data **directly from your computer** to the provider you choose. LUTHFRAME does not receive or store that data on our servers. --- ## 1. Information we do not collect automatically Philos **does not**: - Send your project files, sequences, or media to LUTHFRAME servers - Run third-party analytics or advertising trackers in the panel - Record keystrokes outside of shortcut-assignment flows you initiate in Lexicon - Upload your macros, notes, or export paths without a separate feature you enable If we add optional online features later, we will update this policy and describe what is sent before you use them. ### Optional Ask AI (when enabled) If you turn on **Ask AI** in Settings and provide your own API key (Groq, Google Gemini, or OpenRouter), opening Ask AI sends a small amount of current context **directly from your computer to the provider you chose** using your key so Philos can generate contextual starter questions. Your questions, answers, and up to three recent exchanges from the current in-memory session are also sent for contextual answers and follow-ups. Context can include clip names, sequence metadata, selected-clip source format (resolution, frame rate, and codec when available — not file paths), Premiere version, and coarse machine specs (OS and RAM). A JPEG still of the Program Monitor at the playhead is sent **only if you attach it** in Ask AI (vision uses Gemini or OpenRouter, not Groq). LUTHFRAME does not receive or store these prompts. Media files, project paths, and GPU details are not uploaded otherwise. The in-memory Ask AI session is cleared when the palette reopens. You can disable Ask AI or remove your API key at any time in Settings. ### Optional Assets search (when enabled) Philos includes an **Assets** panel to search stock sound effects, video/photo b-roll, GIFs, and icons. Searches route by media tab to **Freesound** (audio), **Pexels** and **Pixabay** (video/photo), **Giphy** (GIF), and **Iconify** (icons). This is **BYOK** (Bring Your Own Key) for Freesound, Pexels, Pixabay, and Giphy — you paste your own API key in the panel's key sheet (gear icon); Iconify's public icon search needs no key. Pixabay is optional beside Pexels: without a Pixabay key, video/photo search still uses Pexels alone. - **What is sent:** Your search text and, for Freesound/Pexels/Pixabay/Giphy, your API key — sent **directly from your computer** to that provider's servers to run the search and fetch preview thumbnails/audio. When you **Import to Bin**, **Drop to Timeline**, or **Drop as Overlay**, Philos downloads that same provider's full-quality file **directly from your computer** to a local cache folder (`assets-cache/`, under the same preferences area as other Philos data) before importing it into your project — no LUTHFRAME server is involved. - **What is not sent:** Your project files, media, timeline, or any other Philos data. LUTHFRAME does not receive, proxy, or store your search terms, API keys, or downloaded files. - **Storage:** Your API keys are saved locally in Philos preferences (`panelSettings.json`, field `assetsApiKeys`) and are excluded from the optional Settings export/backup file. - Provider licensing varies per file (especially Freesound); check each result's license before using it commercially. You can remove a key at any time from the Assets panel's gear sheet. ### Optional Google Drive (when enabled) If you connect **Google Drive** in Settings, Philos can upload exports to your Drive, import video or image files you select from Drive into Premiere, and optionally back up your Philos settings (shortcuts, macros, and panel preferences) to a folder named **Philos Settings** on your Drive. - **What is sent:** Files you choose to upload or import, plus the minimum data needed for Google sign-in and the Drive / Picker APIs (for example your Google account email and OAuth tokens). If you use **Backup Settings to Drive**, Philos uploads one JSON settings file (`philos-settings-backup.json`) containing your shortcuts, macros, export preferences, and related panel settings. **API keys (Ask AI) and license data are not included** in that backup. - **Where it goes:** **Directly from your computer to Google** — not through LUTHFRAME servers. We do not host, copy, or store your Drive files on our infrastructure. - **Scope:** Philos requests the limited Google scope `drive.file`, which allows access to files Philos creates or that you explicitly open through Philos (including via the Google file picker). - **Sign-in:** OAuth runs in your system browser. The Drive picker may open a local page on `http://127.0.0.1:8742` on your machine to complete selection. - **Stored on your device:** OAuth tokens, connected account email, folder IDs, and recent import history are saved locally (for example in `driveAuth.json` under your Philos preferences). You can **Disconnect** in Settings or reset Philos data to remove them. - **Google’s role:** Files in Google Drive are governed by **[Google’s Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy)**. Philos is not affiliated with Google. --- ## 2. Information stored on your device Philos stores data **locally** on your Mac or PC, including: | Data | Purpose | Typical location | |------|---------|------------------| | Panel settings (shortcuts, favorites, hidden commands, display name) | Your preferences | Adobe Premiere Pro user preferences folder | | User macros | Custom commands you create | Same | | Project notes & report pads | Per-project editor notes you enter | Same | | Export settings (folder, preset, filename template) | Export workflow | Same | | EULA acceptance (version + timestamp) | Legal compliance | Same | | License key (when licensing is enabled) | Unlock the software | Browser local storage inside the CEP panel | | Ask AI settings (enabled flag, provider, API key, model) | Optional AI integration (BYOK) | Adobe Premiere Pro user preferences folder (`Philos/`) | | Assets API keys (Freesound, Pexels, Giphy) | Optional stock asset search (BYOK) | Same | | Google Drive auth (tokens, email, folder id) | Optional Drive upload/import | Same (`driveAuth.json`) | | Settings backup file (optional) | Cloud backup of shortcuts, macros, export prefs | Your Google Drive folder `Philos Settings` | | Recent Drive import history | Re-import without reopening the picker | Same | Paths on macOS are under Adobe’s Premiere Pro preferences folder named `Philos`. You can remove this data by uninstalling the extension and deleting that preferences folder. --- ## 3. Local network (macOS helper) On macOS, Philos may run a small companion helper (`philos-spell`) so global shortcuts work while you edit in Premiere. The helper talks only to the panel over **localhost** (`127.0.0.1`) on your machine. It does not send data to LUTHFRAME over the internet. When you use Google Drive import, Philos may also start a short-lived local web server on `127.0.0.1` (for example port `8742`) so your browser can show Google’s file picker and return your selection to the panel. That server is not exposed to the public internet. --- ## 4. Information you choose to send us If you use **Report bug / Feedback** in Settings or email **philos@luthframe.com**, you voluntarily send us whatever you include (for example description, screenshots, system details you type). We use that only to support and improve Philos. --- ## 5. Adobe Premiere Pro Philos integrates with Premiere Pro via Adobe’s CEP platform. Adobe’s handling of your data is governed by **Adobe’s privacy policy**, not this one. Philos is not affiliated with Adobe. --- ## 6. Children Philos is professional editing software. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. --- ## 7. Changes We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, when practical, in the app or on our website. --- ## 8.
